LinkedIn's recent algorithm changes suggest that you don't need more people in your network you just need the right people.

I did a small experiment on this:

I wanted to be discovered for the term product marketer because am looking to do a career shift.

So I connected with a lot of product marketers, product managers, people in SaaS and other similar people.

I also started to post content about Saas and product marketing.

This resulted in getting discovered for the keyword "product marketer" on search appearances.

Long story short (as mentioned in the article) you don't need quantity you need quality - either it's people or content.
